DYE - SENSITIZED MESOPOROUS TITANIUM

of Chemistry – Abstract Titanium
dioxide (TiO2) was widely used in the dye-sensitized nanocrystalline
solar cells owing to its favorable energetic stability, low price, and simple
processing. In this work N719 dye – sensitized titanium dioxide electrodes were fabricated on the FTO conducting glass by
the doctor blade technique in various conditions. The
micro-structure of the fabricated electrodes was studied by X-ray diffraction
(XRD) and their surface morphology – by scanning electron microscope (SEM) methods.
Charge transfer reaction on N719 dye - sensitized titanium dioxide electrodes
in the solution of TBABF4 0.1M in acetonitrile was studied by cyclic
voltammetry (CV). The results
showed that the annealing at 450oC and the pre-treatment of TiO2
thin film with TiCl4 solution improved the structure of
nanocrystalline TiO2 thin film and oxidation current of dye N719.
The oxidation reaction of dye N719 deposited on TiO2 thin films is
irreversible with the peaks obtained in CV-curves were ca. + 0.90 V (SCE). |
