Tự Nhiên Tóm tắt: Nano
bán dẫn đang được quan tâm rất lớn do
SYNTHESIS AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF SEMICONDUCTOR

Faculty of Physics, University of natural Sciences Abstract: Semiconductor nanoparticles are of great interest owing to their
nonlinear optical and electronic properties. However, in order to exhibit these
properties the nanoparticles must be stabilized both to prevent their
agglomeration as well as to obtain a uniform and controlled size. Furthermore,
to elaborate the future all-optical integrated components, such nanoparticles
need to be included into dense glassy thin films. In this study we present results on CdS quantum dots capped with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane
(MPTMS). We obtained a colloidal solution of CdS nanoparticles, stable for 1
day and having a narrow size distribution. Absorption and luminescence
spectroscopies were used to follow the growth, the evolution of the concentration
and of the size distribution of the nanocrystals. By decreasing the
MPTMS/cadmium ratio, the initial particle mean diameter was slightly increased
and the following growth kinetics was strongly enhanced in the solutions. Such
CdS nanoparticles were then added to a TiO2 sol, in order to
stabilize the particles growth and to deposit thin films using the sol-gel
dip-coating technique. After deposition and heat treatment up to 500°C under
nitrogen, CdS quantum dots were still retained embedded in the TiO2
matrix. The thin films
deposited on glass slides were able to support one guided mode. Using the
m-line technique, the refractive index and film thickness were obtained.
Propagation losses for such waveguides were measured to be 1 dB/cm. Finally the
third-order optical nonlinearities were studied using the Z-scan technique.
