tích do nồng độ tỷ lệ nghịch với
dạng hạt) và POC (carbon hữu cơ dạng hạt);
BEHAVIOURS OF NUTRIENTS IN A MANGROVE
TIDAL CREEK: A CASE STUDY IN CAN GIO MANGROVE BIOSPHERE RESERVE, HO Pham
Quynh Huong 1, Ruben Jose Lara 2 1 Faculty of
Biology, 2 Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT), Abstract Surface ater samples were taken throughout 36 tidal cycles from a mangrove tidal creek in Can Gio mangrove biosphere reserve. Dissolved inorganic nutrients showed the clear tidal signatures: silicate was a symbol of groundwater from sediment because it was inversely proportional to the water level; phosphate and ammonia also derived from groundwater but the signature of ammonia was more obvious than phosphate in the dry season while the signature of phosphate was easily seen in the rainy season. The concentrations of nitrite and nitrate were directly proportional to the water level during the sampling year. Toward the end of the dry season, the concentration of silicate decreased whereas ammonia and phosphate showed an increasing, probably due to groundwater dynamics. Phosphate fluctuated in a contrary trend in the rainy season. There was no consistency in the differences between day and night of nutrients in the studied creek, but ammonia seemed to be a dominant source of nitrogen for autotrophic uptake. Water from sediment was a supply of TPP (total particulate phosphorus), TPN (total particulate nitrogen) and POC (particulate organic carbon) in the creek; POC might be exported from the mangrove through the dilution of materials on the floor during high tide. |
