CRITICAL POINTS OF NON-C2 FUNCTIONALS Duong Minh Duc, Tran Vinh Hung, Nguyen Tien
Khai Faculty of Mathematics – Informatics, Abstract In this present article, we establish flows on nomed spaces. Apply it we extend the ỉmportant result of Groll, Myer, Morse and Palais. Palais proved the Morse-Palais lemma for C3 functions. This result was extented for C2 functions by Kuiper. Recently Li, Li and Liu obtained a version of Morse-Palais lemma without the C2-smoothness. But the functions studied are of C2 functions in some sense. We prove Morse-Palais lemma, which does not request the C2-smoothness neither the completeness of the spaces and is applicable to the following function: J(x,y) = x2 – y2 + (1/40) . (x2+y2)5. sin(1/(x2+y2)2) for all (x,y) Î R2\(0,0) J(0,0) = 0. Reference: [1] K.C.Chang, Infinite Dimensional Morse Theory and Multiple Solution Problems, Birkhauser (1993). [2] D.M.Duc, Nonlinear
