ENVIRONMENTAL WEEDS IN WETLANDS OF LO GO

Nga, Tran Triet Faculty of Biology, Abstract Weeds are plants which grow in places in which they aren’t expected. Environmental weeds are exotic plants which grow and spread in protected areas in order to distinguish from agricultural weeds. There were 23 species of environmental weeds belonging to 15 families in wetland areas of Lo Go Xa Mat National Park. Among them, a few of environmental weeds such as Pennisetum polystachyon, Mimosa diplotricha, Eichhornia crassipes, Mimosa pigra, Pistia stratiotes have caused seriously impacts on freshwater ecosystems in particular and wetlands in genenal.
